Every half an hour in the UK, a child or young person will acquire a brain injury (ABI). The Child Brain Injury Trust (CBIT) provides information, support and training to anyone affected by this devastating and life changing condition. CBIT work with families and professionals to support them after a child acquires a brain injury. This help varies from practical support in meetings with schools or hospitals, to emotional support for the whole family through our counselling service. We accept referrals of any child or young person in the UK (up to the age of 18) with an acquired brain injury, and have ABI Coordinators working in every region of the UK who are linked to paediatric major trauma centres. When a child or young person acquires a brain injury, the whole family face a daunting and unknown journey ahead. As the child or young person continues to grow older, other affects of the ABI can become known. We are there every step of the way, to support the whole family with any challenges that come their way. “This service is invaluable to families like mine.” - family supported by CBIT. Come onboard and join Team CBIT, to help support so many families across the UK.
