Give a Book promotes books and reading in the hardest places. We mainly work in prisons and with children in disadvantaged circumstances. Our core belief is that to pass on a good read—to give a book—is a transaction of lasting worth.    

Prison Reading Groups (PRG) has been part of the Give a Book charity since 2017.  

Our work includes reading groups for assorted levels of confidence and experience as well family reading initiatives in prisons around the UK. We also work with schools in disadvantaged areas, children affected by parental imprisonment, children who are in the secure accommodation network, and in mental health wards. All our projects have reading for pleasure at their heart. We see again and again how reading changes people's lives.
