"When Bodie died, his parents founded the charity to fill the gap in bereavement support following the death of a child.
Bodie’s Bereavement Service provides early 1:1 therapeutic support to parents and siblings following the death of a child, for up to 2 years. These early days are dark and isolating, but the Bodie Hodges Foundation aims to give a glimmer of light, and a little hope to the families.
The charity also hosts peer to peer support groups for bereaved mums, dads and siblings, and will soon be launching a support group for bereaved grandparents. These groups have been very successful, with small communities being created which provide a safe space to talk about lived experiences with people who really ‘get it.’
There is also a national project, the Treasured Memory Bags. These are bags filled with age appropriate grief resources, and are gifted to children and young people across the UK whose brother or sister has died. It gives them, time, space, and the means to understand, remember, and reconnect.
All of these services are provided free of charge."
