Every year The Wilderness Foundation provides opportunities for individuals and groups to directly experience the irreplaceable quality of wilderness, both as a positive force for social and environmental sustainability and as a forum for personal growth and change in England, Scotland and South Africa. We educate a wide audience, particularly young people, about the value of wild nature and natural landscapes, creating stewardship into the future and informed knowledge of social and environmental issues, and personal experiences of improved health and well-being through spending time in wild places.
Using the positive power of nature to change lives, we continue to work with some of the hardest to reach most-disadvantaged young people in our community in a variety of proven intervention programmes including TurnAround and OutThere Wilderness Academy. All our work is independently monitored and evaluated and we share our results widely.
