Their Future Today

About Us

Lynn Stanier, a Sunbury-based travel agent and holiday specialist to Sri Lanka travelled with her son Ryan to Sri Lanka to volunteer in a clean-up operation based in Galle. After a few days undertaking activities, such as moving considerable rubble manually, in 35 degrees heats (there were no JCB's available) they discovered a Children's State Receiving Home in Galle.

It was here that she made a significant connection with a beautiful baby girl, Piyumi, a six month old baby who weighed only six pounds. Screaming in her cot for a feed that she had not received due to a severe understaffing, Lynn picked her up and she immediately stopped crying. Touched to the core by the plight of Piyumi and the other tiny inhabitants, Lynn galvanized her friends, clients and colleagues into action. Entirely self-motivated, she has launched and organised fund raising activities, including a series of Balls, and has coerced her friends to visit this Institution, and take up her cause. Every friend, colleague and client who has visited on TFT's behalf, has not failed to be affected by the plight and need of these children and their carers, and have been invaluable in maintaining continuing support.

With the success of Piyumi’s story and the support of the Government we are dedicated to continue raising funds and improving lives for many more children living in unacceptable conditions, and reuniting families who have been innocently driven apart through poverty.
